BlackBird, Fly

When I first saw the promote ad in the theater I told myself that I would surely go and watch this movie. Well, perhaps 60% for Brad Pitt / 30% for Sean Penn. Yet I have to say the director Terrence Malick truly got me. 

However, the cinema surprised me. This theater is one of the theater in downtown Livermore, First Street. And it's the only one playing the film. Once you step into it. I found a smaller room &screen. Yet it made me feel like going way back to the 80s . I wouldn't surprise if it'll be a black&white movie later on(Thank got it did not.)

You may have anything you want in the front(even beer) and bring it in. This is a tiny but cosy place. The first 3 rows are even sofa. People can truly lay back and enjoy the show. 

Let's get back to the movie. Apparently I'm the youngest one in the theater. Well, perhaps its the earliest movie today (11am) The others are all like in their 50+. Well, my advice is don't go to this movie unless you have a strong will to stay awake. It's not a Hollywood movie AT ALL. 

From the vast universe to a dust-like planet called Earth. Then from the dinosaur age to the internet "modern" world as now. We tried to be something but it might as well be nothing. What makes us human different is we can sense/ control the moment. What's more, we can memorize/ capture those. 

We are not live for survive but to live for a life. A life with THE MOMENT. 

I kept thinking about Dad lately and like it or not, I'm part of him. And because of him I'm here and years later there's a boy carried my name will be born and continue the story. My dad is a serious man that seldom open his smile for us. And we didn't really talk. If we did, I did it reluctantly. That was I. A Rebel kid. 

Before I came to the US. I found the picture taken maybe 20 years ago. It was him and me laughing on the dinner table. He was 30 something and that moment, I barely knew the world. 

As time goes he becomes smaller yet I grow bigger each day. Things that I would never think of that come so vivid in my eyes. 

In the search of the meaning of life.
